The Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Letsa who is also chairman of the Regional Health Emergency Management Committee, has been providing details on the nine recorded positive coronavirus cases as follow:
- The six confirmed cases in the Ketu South municipality were traveler who entered the region through unapproved routes but were arrested and put under mandatory quarantine for 1-day. They did not show any symptoms of the disease until the confirmation test.
- The other three cases were identified through routine surveillance in the region and it includes one of the two Hohoe cases, which is a 22-year old pregnant woman who travelled Hohoe from Ashaiman to deliver with her mother. She is said to be clinically stable with her baby and on isolation.
- The other Hohoe case is a 32-year old man who also travelled to the area from Tema about two (2) weeks ago. He was on isolation since he was suspected of the virus and he is currently clinically stable.
- The single case in Ho, the Regional capital involves a 48-year old Ghanaian, who returned to Ho from Accra and twelve (12) days after, developed the symptoms. He had since been on isolation.
- All three (3) confirmed routine surveillance cases were not known contacts of the COVID19. However, health authorities have begun contact tracing for the cases.
